2 Days Mushroom cultivation course
In 2025 we only have one date available for 2 Days Mushrooms Cultivation Course:
14th- 15th March 2025.
The course will take place at Granton Castle Walled Gardens, Edinburgh.
Please book in advance as places are limited.
What will you learn?
First day:
• Introduction to Fungi Kingdom
• Exploring Fungi world in the Garden and how they grow
• Introduction to Mushroom Growing
• cold pasteurisation method explained

• making mushroom growing bags

We would like to invite you to our 2 days mushroom growing course.
First step to mushroom cultivation is to observe their life cycle, their nature and habitat and we will begin this Adventure focusing on fungi around us.
Place where fun and magic begins!
WHEN: only 2 dates available in 2024; 20th- 21st April and 15th- 16th June
SATURDAY: We meet at Granton Castle Walled Gardens at 12 noon in search for Fungi species. approximately 2 hours.
12- 2pm Introduction to Fungi Kingdom, hunting for mushrooms growing in the Garden.
2pm-4pm work at farm: We will be doing mushroom spore prints and cloning wild mushroom species found in the Garden. We will explain cold pasteurisation method and soak the straw overnight for next day work and inoculation.
SUNDAY: 12noon- 6pm work at farm. Inoculating bags and logs with mushroom spawn. Types of oyster mushrooms and their requirements to grow. A lot more, plus mushroom tea and coffee!
You will be getting inoculated mushroom bag and log with you to grow at home and you will receive electronic version of Fungiculture, vol.1 Mushroom Growing Guide.
